Office Closure

The iBSL office will be closed on Thursday 15th & Friday 16th September as we are moving offices. Please contact us before Thursday if any urgent action is required.

Annual Qualification Approval Form

The Annual Qualification Approval Form for Level 6 has now been uploaded onto the website. This is located under Teach/Learn BSL, Centre Guidelines and then Key Documents.

Peter Jackson: Retirement

Our Chief Executive Peter Jackson has now retired. Peter is looking forward to a long and happy retirement with Mo and the family. The team at iBSL and all our valued client’s wish Peter every happiness in this new chapter of his life.

Level 4 Certification in Education & Training for Sign Language Teachers QCF @ Grwp Llandrillo Menai

Course Length
Duration: 6 hours per class for 15 weeks in 1st year and 15 weeks in 2nd year.

16th September 2016

This programme is designed to provide an introduction to teacher education for Deaf people and others seeking to teach British Sign Language (or lip reading). Leaners will gain knowledge on the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, inclusive teaching and learning approaches, facilitating learning and development with individuals or groups and the role of assessment in the teaching and learning process. Leaners will have the opportunity to choose to study from a range of optional units to support the specialist knowledge required in the teaching of sign language or lip reading.

An Institute of British Sign Language Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training for Sign Language Teachers prepares trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. It requires observation and assessment of performance.
This qualification is only available in Wales by agreement with Qualifications Wales (SAQW and Grwp Llandrillo Menai.
